You can find out more about what Australia’s cattle and sheep farmers are doing to achieve sustainable beef and lamb production by visiting www.target100.com.au
Target 100 is an initiative by Australian cattle and sheep farmers and the wider beef and lamb industry to proactively meeting the sustainability challenge.
Target 100 is made up of 100 research, development and extension projects that together build upon sustainable cattle and sheep farming in Australia, arming cattle and sheep farmers with a constant stream of scientific research to change and adapt current practices, ensuring the best measures are in place to feed a growing population sustainably.
The initiative is also about bridging the urban-rural divide and helping consumers to find out more about the sustainability of the industry. It gives Australians the chance to have an open discussion with farmers, opinion leaders, environmentalists, chefs and each other about sustainable cattle and sheep farming.
